After delivery it will take time for your body to heal. You will be sore and tired, but eventually the time will come when you are ready to get fit after pregnancy. Is there a way to increase your odds of success?

Don't bother with dieting. Diets don't work, all they do is have you cut either certain foods out like carbohydrates, or they have you eat low or no fat foods. Carbs are not bad for you, there are good carbs that can help you get fit after pregnancy. Low fat foods are often loaded with sugar, and in some cases are worse for you than nonfat originals.

Most new moms end up ravenous because they don't have time for themselves, and will often grab a food that is a poor choice just to stave off hunger. Often this will lead to over eating because finally the baby got to sleep and you are starved.

Exercising will help to get fit after pregnancy, but don't be fooled into thinking that you will always have the energy to do so. Making realistic goals such as taking a walk three times per week will be more attainable than planning on doing an hour of cardio five days a week. Exercises that you can do with your baby are best this can be a great time for bonding.

So what do you eat or not eat to get fit after pregnancy? Make good choices, high fiber, fruits, veggies, whole grains, all the food you learned in school that were good for you. However, it isn't only about what foods to eat, it is also about portion size, and when you should eat.
